Severe storms about to hit the UK

Brace yourselves, they're on their way and in great British style, the storms will arrive at "tea time".

Where else on the planet, is "tea time" a recognized time of day, except in Blighty?

The Met Office has issued Amber alerts for most of the UK for today and tomorrow, with an inch of rain and hour falling throughout this evening and tomorrow.

Severe thunderstorms are expected to disrupt power networks, so make yourself a flask of tea and some corned beef sarnies and prepare to go back in time tonight and relive the blitz.

If you would like to track the storms progress, this super site shows you all the lightening strikes in real-time.  This presupposes you have internet access and power to your house!

So, strap yourselves down and enjoy the wild ride!
