State Visit - Trump in the UK

Welcome to the UK, Mr President.

Donald Trump arrives today in the UK for an official state visit, by invitation of Her Majesty, The Queen.

Although the Queen has met all US Presidents, President Trump will be only the third US President to be accorded the honour of a full state visit.

His visit will be an interesting one, as Trump is often viewed as an enabler of Brexit, by supporting the democratic vote of the UK nation.   President Obama and Hillary Clinton, both visited the UK with dire warnings of consequences we would face if we voted to leave back in 2016.  In fact Obama said the "UK would be at the back of the queue for deals", with the USA.
Crazy Hillary threatens UK if they leave EU

This week Trump has made some amazing overtures to the UK about the potential benefits for both countries.  Upon leaving the EU, the UK will be free to trade with the USA and set its own taxes and import duties.  America has long complained about the unfairness of heavy levies on their goods exported to Europe.

There is no doubt that the Remainers will view this as terrible Trump, interfering in UK domestic policies, by offering us hope.  We can expect some trouble from these positive vibes the President is sending us.  This is because the Remainers, so entrenched in their ways, want to paint a bleak picture of this country outside of the EU.  They most certainly do not want hope of a prosperous life outside of the union, and Trump's positiveness flies in the face of this doom and gloom.

The President, will be hosted by outgoing Prime Minister May (who leaves 2 days after his visit) has already indicated he wants to meet Tory party hopeful, Boris Johnson, and Brexit winner Nigel Farage on his visit.   More on that story here https://news.sky.com/story/donald-trump-could-meet-good-guys-nigel-farage-and-boris-johnson-during-uk-trip-11731717

Additionally, National Security Advisor, John Bolton, could not speak in a language any clearer when he spells out the hopes of an Anglo American trade deal.  See here: https://news.sky.com/story/donald-trump-looking-forward-to-fully-independent-britain-says-us-national-security-adviser-john-bolton-11731711

It should be an interesting few days in Blighty!   Welcome, Mr President!
