Good grief...what an insane weekend in London City. My bunions have bunions from all that dancing.
On Friday we had a change to the usual running order as the usual night at Bar Soho was cancelled to make way for an event by Gallery Xue in Trafalgar Square. It proved to be an absolute sim packer with people floating around the fountain.
After the Gallery Xue event, we headed over to Madame Lala's London Revue for another round of mayhem and madness. A Best in 80s contest proved to be challenging on the eyes...leg warmers. leotard, bad perm...and that was just me.
Saturday at World's End saw a Best in Super Hero contest, which provided a great warm up to the big event that was to follow - Queen in Regent's Park. It was a long concert (at around two hours) but the punters were kept happy with plenty of toe-tapping, hand-clapping and foot-stomping favourites.
Later at Lezbo there was a Best in Sci Fi contest that saw all kinds of madness - from aliens to robots - unleashed on the dance floor!
On Sunday, as it was the first of the month, there was a tea leaf reading at The Tea House by Lord of the Teapot.
This lead nicely in to a special event in the Hub - a L$3000 giveaway! Both events drew in the crowds...in fact, they were queuing out of the door for tea leaf readings.
Later on Sunday we had the grand opening of the new venue beneath Comptons. It is a fab and groovy 60s club called Substation. We were all magically transported back to 1967 with the music, hair and fashions.
After that, we had a Best in Under The Sea contest at Lezbo, which rounded the weekend off in suitably madcap style, with sea turtles, whales and merfolk!
Stay tuned for news of next weekends events - a nice long weekend...heaven only knows what will happen...
