John Denver in Concert, Saturday

A brand new concert this weekend.

For the first time in London City, this Saturday, 28th April, we celebrate the wonderful talents of world famous folk musician, writer and tenor singer, John Denver.

Born John Deutschendorf in 1943, he knew at an early age that he wanted to be a musician and not enter into the military as his father, an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel had wished.

In 1965 he became part of the Chad Mitchell Trio, but abandoned the group to go solo and in 1969 was signed to produce his first album Rhymes & Reasons.

He became most famous during the 1970's with hits, Sunshine on My Shoulders, Take Me Home Country Roads, Leaving On A Jet Plane, Rocky Mountain High, Annie' Song and Calypso.

Denver was a conservationist, who devoted much of his time to raise awareness to damage caused to habitats by deforestation.   A keen pilot, Denver died in 1997, after losing control of an experimental and unlicensed plane.  He was 53.

In 2007 the state of Colorado adopted Rocky Mountain High as it's official song.

Join us this Saturday and enjoy the legend that lives on.
Party in the Park starts at 12pm SL (8pm UK) and John Denver in Concert is an hour later at 1pm.
