Boney M
Boney M is a vocal group,  Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Ferrell from Aruba, the band  formed in 1975 in Germany and   they gained popularity through the disco era of the late 70's. This concert is so popular, people singing along to all the songs and having a great time , no wonder the sim fills to capacity, and people queue to teleport in.
Me, looking sooo smexy

Straight after time to hot-foot-it over to Juiced, our new Club in Adult Sim 3.

The Weekend Review 8 -10 June

Wow!! How fast has this week gone? It's zoomed by... And what a fantastic weekend in London city as always.

All week we had events at Bar Soho, Substation, Worlds end pub and Lezbo, all had contests and played great music, ranging from the 50's & 60's, Chart and Pop music, to Hardcore Dance, there really is something for everyone here, and that's what makes London City the Top Destination in Second Life, along with all the fantastic people and fun we have.

Friday 8th June

We saw the big opening of Madame Lala's, so to speak.
 New refurbishment, New manager.

Madame Lala's is based upon  Madame Jojo's 8-10 Brewer Street, Soho, London W1 - circa 1986-1990.

In the late 1980's, Revue Bar owner, Paul Raymond opened Madame Jojo's, named after its Filipino manager,  female impersonator Jojo.

By the early nineties, Paul Raymond and its Manager, Jojo, had parted company, but the name lives on to this day.

Madame Lala's is based upon the era of 1986 to 1990, when Jojo's was a "Club Extraordinare" with a nightly Revue act ranging from live singers to amusing cheap budget shows featuring the staff of the club.

The refurbishment has stayed true to the original theme of Jojo's but has been given a more modern twist  crafted by Ruby and Bailey.

As Torric  bow's out of the proceedings to concentrate on other New exciting London City ventures, Bailey who did a wonderful job in Bar Soho takes up the reins,  and put's a whole new spin on this already popular club.
Madame Lala on Baileys new post,  " Lala look's forward to watching Bailey work the club, it gives Lala more time to drink and sleep.".... Lovely isn't she :)

Woooo Saturday! Busy as ever in London City, people from all over the grid came to the  live show in Regents Park, it is always a good idea to get there early as the sim fill's to bursting point and this weekend was no exception.! There was a best in Black and White contest, where people came in their mono-chrome  outfits in hope of winning some Linden dollars, it's always fun to see the many different outfits in the same theme.

And then Live in Regents park Mika.

On stage around  9pm. Mika and his band  rocked it! He sang his awesome songs which included Love to day, Big girl, you are beautiful, Billy Brown, and many more, which the crowd loved and  sang along with.

It was great to have a brand new performer in London city, and I'm sure Mika will visit us again, so if you did miss out this time look out for him again very soon.

After the concert it was time to head over to Lezbo,
Lezbo opens 10:30 pm / 2:30 slt, and it is a club with a difference, each night the club is transformed into a different theme echoing the best in event. On Saturday there was a a best in 80's roller disco.

The whole club was whisked back to the 80's with a neon glow which was very popular back then, free skates were given to everyone who attended so we could ALL enjoy the fun. Later the contest was announced and lucky winners left with a handful of Linden dollars.

Sunday saw Lezbo take on a skateboard park, what a hoot, people looking like Tony Hawk, skateboarding like professionals around the club, it was awesome.

So, that's me done for another week in the awesome London City.
I'll see you next time after another fantastic week xxx.

The London Substation - Sounds of the sixties

London City is pleased to announce a brand new club dedicated to the sounds of the sixties.

Located under Comptons Pub, all roads lead to "Substation", which is connected to the Subway system in the Regent's Park meeting area and via Comptons itself and the outdoor concert area.

Although not completely finished inside, we opened for a few hours last Sunday to give a flavour of what is to come.   During the week, the builders will be doing their job and we have every confidence that we'll be right ready for the launch party on Sunday 1st April at 12pm SL / 8pm UK.

We hope you will enjoy this complimentary additional layer of entertainment in London City.

COX Leather

COX Leather shop in London City
Jed Sparta and Stan Storno
Looking for something a little different? Want to show off your masculine physique? Then look no further than COX Leather located in the heart of the London City shopping district.

Stan Storno and Jed Sparta, owners and creators of COX Leather, have created some of the best leather gear for men that I've seen in Second Life. Wrap yourself in the feel of sensual leather goods including a large range of chaps and leather trousers. Biker and Bomber jackets plus tank tops, jock straps and accessories help complete the range. Most, if not all, of the clothing available at COX Leather comes complete with sculpty bits to add a real 3 dimentional flair to your look.

I caught up with Stan and Jed to ask about Cox Leather and this is what they had to say:

'We started COX Leather in mid 2010.  Since then the business has grown to over 30 stores throughout SL, with a range that includes leatherwear, tanks, denim, underwear and accessories. I had always found it difficult to find quality leatherwear in SL.  I started making clothes for myself, then giving them to friends. The whole idea behind COX Leather is to design clothes that are very high quality, but also different to those available from other labels.  Everything is designed to make the wearer look HOT haha!' said Stan.

Jed added 'There was a lack of quality clothes in SL that would fit a muscular bodyshape – both of us are big guys, but a lot of clothes in SL are designed for smaller bodies.'

Fire Pants in Leather
I started to wonder what inspired the pair to create these excellent works of art. Stan said 'My man and business partner Jed has always been my inspiration.  He’s the first judge of what I design - if Jed likes it, chances are it will be a best seller. We both work in fashion in real life: I am an art director and stylist, and Jed works in fashion marketing.  So between us we always have lots of fresh ideas.'

'Hahaha, I’m blushing!  Stan’s being modest, the reason COX has been so successful is down to his design talent.  Stan is very good at taking a basic garment such as a pair of jeans or a tank, and giving the design a clever, cheeky twist.  That is the hallmark of COX clothes.'

Cowboy Tank Top
So with all the time and effort that goes into Cox Leather I started to wonder if the boys had any play time. Stand and Jed assured me that 'Apart from creating clothes, I love to build, so I am always adding to COX City and our club The Hole.  I also love exploring SL – there are so many creative and talented people in SL, and beautiful places to visit.  It’s always inspiring to see what other people have created. And of course we love to party – it’s always great to go to a club and see people wearing your designs!'

The pairs hard work and dedication is apparent so pop into COX Leather in London City and check out this amazing designing duo and their range of hot leather wear.
