Another "must have item" straight out the trash!

You asked for it and we have obliged!

The Queens Jubilee

And so ends our long weekend of festivities for the Queen's Jubilee.  I think we could all use another few days off to get over it!

Hope you enjoyed Rolf Harris in the Jubilee Gardens.  Judging by the audience figures, it looks like you did.

The wrap-up party with Bar Soho is going strong in the Park at the time of writing this, so why not pop in and round off the evening with some great tunes and banter.

This Saturday we have a brand new concert for you.  MIKA! on Saturday at 1pm SL (9pm UK), Party starts at 12pm SL.

Thanks everyone for making this London inSL the most popular estate on the SL grid.  Your support and patronage is appreciated and humbly received.  You make it what it is.

Have a great rest of the week and its only three days til the weekend!  8-)

Tuesday - Jubilee Events

We're all going to need a few days off to get over this Jubilee!

Thanks to the hundreds of people who attended Concert for Her Majesty in Regent's Park last night.  It was a superb evening with great company.

Alas the long weekend is drawing to a close, but we have the one and only Rolf Harris in Concert at 12pm SL (8pm UK) today.   The Party in the Park begins one hour earlier.  Don't miss it!

Weekend in Review - February 24th to 26th

Well that's another weekend of insanity over with...although that one was even more insane than usual.

Things usually start off with our Bar Soho and Madame Lala's London Revue combo, but there was an early start as a variety of old codgers took to a specially erected (stop giggling) stage in the Hub.  Rolf Harris, the Seekers, Demis Roussos and Peter, Paul and Mary all made appearances during the course of the afternoon.  These were accompanied by various toga, sixties and hippy contests set up to terrify...erm...I mean...thrill the assembled crowd.

We then had a Best in Patriotic contest at Bar Soho - with yours truly in a dress far shorter than I would usually wear - and Best in Glamour at Madame Lala's establishment.

The big news on Saturday was a combination of the big concert - Kylie! - and the Lezbo roadshow for a Best in Punk contest.  The concert featured possibly the biggest stage set to ever be erected (I told you to stop giggling) in Regent's Park.

On Sunday we had our usual weekend wind down at Comptons where the contest was for the Worst Dressed.  This seem far harder to pick than anyone would have imagine from the state of a lot of people in SL...

The final blast of the weekend went as always to Lezbo with a Best in Baggies/Rave contest.  I am not saying things were bright but I think I have lost some colour recognition in at least one eye.

Speaking of eyes, it is time I rested mine!  Be good (and if you can't be good, be careful - or have an alibi).

Weekend in Review - 28-30 October

Hello my lovelies...auntie Bailey here again with another weekend roundup from the wonderful world of London City.  We did our usual Bar Soho and Madame Lala's Revue stuff on Friday night...thankfully we managed to get through the evening without any bus crashes, chipped nails, etc.

Madame Lala's: Always a scream...
On Saturday we were treated to the Monstrous Ball in Regent's Park and you have to admit, in London City we are really amazing when it comes to holding balls.  DJ Ruby was on the decks with a selection of suitably scary tunes and there were prize money contests every half an hour.  Great efforts were made on outfits and everyone seemed to have a spooky old time.

Sunday at Comptons continued in a scary manner, although it was a different kind of scary as Rolf Harris reprised his act.

Weekend in Review

Total insanity at the weekend in London City.  The Friday event at Bar Soho (Best in Green) proved to be a warm up for the later event at Madame Lala's London Revue, which got the weekend off to a rocking start with special guest Tina Turner.

On Saturday we had a party in the park that proved to be a fantastic event and exceeded everyone's expectations.  The special guest was Australian musician, singer-songwriter, composer, painter and television personality, Mr Rolf Harris!  A free didgeridoo and extra leg were available as gifts for visitors.  The backing band were very enthusiastic and took to pogo sticks for 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down' and donned their extra legs to dance along to 'Jake the Peg'!

Everyone became a Rolferoo for the evening!
Sunday contained a disappointment when the scheduled performer was forced to cancel, but all was forgotten when London City favourite, Brian Narstrom, returned for a second live concert at Comptons pub.

The weekend was rounded off nicely with some chilled out tunes from DJ Torric Rodas.

A Year Of Soho

Who would have thought that a year ago when we opened on a small parcel only big enough for Bar Soho and five stores, that a year on we would have a whole private region bursting with content,  shops and people... and be building our next region!

Join us here in London City to celebrate a year of Soho during August.

As the Featured Second Life Destination says, we will hold two concerts each weekend, have a fashion show towards the end of the month, featuring the very best products from our 70 merchants and have competitions and celebrations throughout the month.

This weekend on Saturday at 1pm, enjoy our totally bizarre and hysterical first Birthday party with the legendary Rolf Harris performing with his backing band the Rolfaroos

On Sunday, Live vocalist and professional entertainer, BG Singer will be singing Big Band and Swing songs of Michael Buble, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra at Compton's Pub from 1pm.

Join us for another big fun London Weekend here in London City!
