Hurricane Lorenzo and Oktoberfest

Britain is braced for its first country wide hurricane in 32 years, making landfall early Friday morning, with gale force winds today from mid-afternoon.

What better time is there to make plans for an early weekend, seeing as you won't be able to go to work tomorrow?

Whilst sheltering from this hurricane of the century, why not pop along to Madame Lala's from 1pm SL time (9pm UK) to enjoy Oktoberfest.  Oodles of grog and yodelling are bound to take your mind of the carnage going on outside.

Severe storms about to hit the UK

Brace yourselves, they're on their way and in great British style, the storms will arrive at "tea time".

Where else on the planet, is "tea time" a recognized time of day, except in Blighty?

The Met Office has issued Amber alerts for most of the UK for today and tomorrow, with an inch of rain and hour falling throughout this evening and tomorrow.

Severe thunderstorms are expected to disrupt power networks, so make yourself a flask of tea and some corned beef sarnies and prepare to go back in time tonight and relive the blitz.

If you would like to track the storms progress, this super site shows you all the lightening strikes in real-time.  This presupposes you have internet access and power to your house!

So, strap yourselves down and enjoy the wild ride!

Storm Imogen

Greetings from London where "Imogen" is just getting started.
London is one of less severe areas with paltry 55 mile an hour winds.

Look further South to Southampton to see the full force of this storm with raging winds reaching 85 miles an hour.

The day is young, this event gets into full force by lunch time.
You can follow the progress of Imogen here http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/

Hurricane Storm Brings Chaos for Millions

During the night, England has had the worst storms since 1987 and its not quite over yet,  as winds are set to peak in London at around 8am Monday morning.

Currently all trains and planes are suspended in the UK, but it's not all bad news!   It seems that most of London's workforce will be enjoying a day off as Monday gets tagged on to their weekend!

So, if you find yourself marooned at home with lashings of hot tea and biscuits, why not visit London City where you can do the British thing and talk about the weather.

TP in to have a jolly good moan about it  http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/London%20City/73/238/24
