Today is the last day you can buy money from a 3rd party system as Linden Lab terminates the
Reseller pilot program.
For many years, third parties were able to buy and sell Linden dollars to other residents. Last year, a change of agreement by Linden Lab permitted only the selling of L$ by a 3rd party and not the purchase of excess L$ from residents. However, just 8 weeks ago the Lab announced that it was discontinuing the pilot scheme completely and that Resellers had until 1st August to wrap up their businesses.
For the past two months, Resellers have been campaigning for a stay of execution at least until the end of this year, but to no avail.
DX Exchange one of the largest Third Party Money Resellers says on their site:
"We almost run out of our L$ stock. LL did not respond to the petitions. It's the end of an era.
We still have a small stock for those who just bought and still have to withdraw their L$.
We advice you to do it now, so you won't be disappointed. We are not allowed to buy L$ to replenish"
So if you have cash on deposit, today would be a good day to collect it.
Having had a long and happy association with TeleLinden and DX Exchange, we here at London City, wish both companies well in whichever direction they now choose to direct their business activities.

Back in 2013 Linden Lab prohibited the sale buying of Linden Dollars by companies who would subsequently resell dollars, often at a rate more favourable than the official Lindex Exchange.
In June 2013 Linden Lab permitted resellers to sell Linden Dollars but not to purchase them from residents, effectively forcing the purchase of L$ to go through the Lindex Exchange.
On 15th June 2015, Linden Lab has announced the end of its Authorised Reseller program, giving 3rd party money sellers until the 1st August to sell off any L$ they have remaining.
From 1st August the Lindex will be the only authorised place to purchase Linden Dollars.

We have expanded the payment options for Second Life users, and today, you can easily purchase L$ in more countries than ever before, using a credit card, PayPal, or Skrill, which supports a wide range of payment methods. We’ve found that these options support the vast majority of Second Life users, and we have therefore made the business decision to close the Authorized Linden Dollar Reseller pilot program.
We are contacting program participants directly to detail the next steps for them, and they will have approximately six weeks to sell off their L$ inventory
