All aboard the Mainland London group ~ Admin Change

London Soho Entertainment group has now reached almost 8,500 members.

Due to an ongoing bug with SL, large groups start getting buggy around 9,000 members. 

Therefore we will now start adding people to our sister group Mainland London to work around this problem.

If you find that you are in one group and your friends are in another, you can easily switch groups by touching the group joiners in Regents Park.

For many people, none of this will matter :)

Make an evening of it in Mainland London.  DJ Rolday is playing an hour of latest hits and an hour of Disco 80's with a nightly competition in the brand new Bar Soho, opposite the new Soho Square.  Bar Soho opens at 1pm SLT.

Elizabeth Taylor 1932 - 2011

Like many of you, here at Mainland London we are very sad at the passing of such an incredible icon Elizabeth Taylor.

In tribute, this week we are showing Elizabeth Taylor movies in The Curzon Cinema in Soho.

We are beginning with a heartwarming tale of loves lost and conquered, "Last Time I Saw Paris", also starring Van Johnson, Donna Reed and Roger Moore.

What A Week.. And It's Not Over Yet!

Brand new concert next Saturday in Mainland London: TOM JONES.

Party goers in Mainland London were spoilt for choice at the climax to the Irish Festival week last night.

In Bar Soho, DJ Rolday played his mixture of the latest songs and a collection of Disco hits from the 80's, whilst the audience got a break from wearing green at long last.

In Madame Lala's, Tina Turner took to the stage after resident comedy turn, Ruby Babylon.  There was standing room only throughout and the sim was split at the seams as more and more people came... and kept coming.

It has been a spectacular weekend at Mainland London and it's not over yet.   Events throughout the day today in our newly approved "New User Resources" area, Regent's Park (with brand new horse area!) and  DJ Rolday playing at Bar Soho again tonight from 1pm SL Time.

Next weekend, two concerts for you.  Returning for another show on Friday is Bette Midler and a brand new show for Saturday, the legendary TOM JONES will be playing in West End for the very first time.

We have placed an in-world link to the Linden Lab Market Place for purchasing a Linden Bear to help raise funds for the victims of the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami.   Clicking the sign in-world, will take you directly to the Linden Lab site.

The bears are available for 300, 1000 and 3000 Lindens.  The money is collected by Linden Lab and forwarded to the American Red Cross.

Although people will hold fund raisers, to avoid scams, we recommend you only donate in-world money via the official Linden Lab site and certainly not via tip jars!

There is no Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) appeal at the time of this article being written, but it is extremely likely that one will be put in place within a couple of days.  Donating to a DEC appeal is the very best way to be assured that anything you donate will go directly to the cause.  Whenever there is a DEC appeal, all charitable organisations and many High Street banks will take your donations and pay 100% of them to DEC.   For a list of participants, click the link above.

The Legend that is Tina Turner, will be giving a concert here in Mainland London next Saturday 19th March!

It's a concert not to be missed!

Last night saw Barry White giving his first ever Revue in Mainland London.  Barry sang all his hits and wooed the ladies with his sexy husky voice.... and some of the men too.

The weekend isn't over yet!

Tonight at 2pm Pacific/9pm UK (yes the clocks went forward in the USA last night) DJ Rolday will be playing his fabulous mix of current commercial dance music and an hour of 80's disco, with Tayla Tigerfish in Bar Soho.

The Walrus of Love, BARRY WHITE will be performing in Revue at Madame Lala's, West End, Mainland London this Saturday, 12 March.
