Passenger Concert on Saturday

Passenger was originally a Brit folk/rock band formed in 2003.

When they split up in 2007, lead singer Mike Rosenberg continued his career as a solo artist under the name of Passenger, busking his way around Europe and appearing at fringe festivals.

Then suddenly in 2013 year he exploded onto the scene with three chart topping songs in quick succession,   Let her Go, The Wrong Direction and Holes.

Having written over 200 songs, Passenger is receiving the critical acclaim that eluded the band for so long.

Party in the Park starts on Saturday at 12pm SL (8pm UK) with Passenger tribute band on stage an hour later.

Genesis Viewer RELEASE 1.5.764

We very much hope that our current testers will continue to use the Nightly Builds. It is thanks to their testing that we can find and fix issues quickly. Those on the Nightly build will always get features and fixes quicker than the Releases.  This release build is identical to the Nightly build of the same number.

Changes since Release: 1.4.706

New:

- Search and Replace links in 'saved outfits' to globally update all outfits.
Scenario: when a mesh body has been updated, you would search the old link in an outfit, right click it and 'replace link' with the new object, which will create new links throughout your 'wardrobe', replacing the original link.

- Search and Delete links: You can also delete a link entirely through-out saved outfits.  Scenario, you have a non-bento item that has accidentally been saved throughout your wardrobe and you don't want it any more.

- Customise your friendship requests in Prefs > Adv. Chat setting a new default message when offering friendship. (Left blank, it defaults to 'Would you like to be my friend?', in your chosen language.

- Drag and Drop inventory from one tab to another.
Example: You are in 'Recent' tab and wish to move an item into your "all" tab.  Click and drag the item to the 'All items' tab.  This will change your active tab, and whilst still holding the mouse button, locate where you wish to place the item in your folders and drop it in there.

- Hit Boxes for combat players.  Toggle on/off with Alt+Shift+B

- Group notices can now either display at the top left, middle or top right.  Handy if you frequently get dialog boxes about payments opening over the top of your notices (when set to default, right).  Prefs > Genesis > Adv. Features

- Graphics Quality presets are now available by using /setdebug gestures.  Please collect the Gesture pack from the Genesis main-store.  You can also create your own including effects, windlight and more. (You must enable, Prefs > Adv. Chat: Chat/IM and enable "set /debug".

- Right clicking a person's name in their profile opens a menu subsystem including ability to Abuse Report with name already filled in on report.

- Ability to Abuse Report by right-clicking a Resident's name in any text chat, IM or group IM.

- Ability to constantly have Frames Per Second on screen via, Prefs > Genesis > Adv. Features "display FPS on screen" and tick to show at the top of the screen or un-ticked for bottom (default).

- Active (voice) Speakers can additionally be controlled by clicking the chevrons ">>" in the local chat floater.  This setting will persist through relog, until you choose otherwise.
Click the persons name in the right side panel for moderation and adjusting individual volume for that resident.

Fixes:

- "..is typing bug", when no one is typing!  Although if a user presses the space-bar or a character and does not send the message, it will still appear.

- Fixed FPS appearing in snapshot mode :)

- Fixed annoying typo's when initialising cache system.

Changes:

- Don't log group notices to genesis.log they are irrelevant.

- Fetch recent chat history, only if it is Group Chat and not private IM, because this is already handled locally in Viewer Preferences / chat logging options.

- Removed more chunks of Opensim code for optimising Genesis for SL.  Still much more spaghetti to unravel.  Opensim code is a bit like Norton's,  it exists everywhere.

Dusty Springfield on Saturday

Perhaps one of the most iconic looks of the 1960's belongs to singer Dusty Springfield, with her white backcombed hair and thick eyeliner.  It was a look that so many have tried to emulate.

Dusty, hit the charts in 1963 with I Only Want To Be With You, and from that moment on both sides of the Atlantic, a star was born.  She followed her first hit up with many more, including Wishin' and Hopin', I Only Want To Be With You, I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, and Son of A Preacher Man and many many more.

Dusty is appearing in London City on Saturday and the party starts at 1pm SL time (8pm UK), with the show an hour later at 2pm SL time.

Clocks go forward tonight in Europe and UK.  Back not normal times next week.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Pissed as a fart, "Two fingers of whisky please"

A very happy St. Patrick's day to you all!

You can join everyone in Lala's at 2pm SLT (9pm UK) for a right proper knees up with copious amounts of liquor.

St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Partaay, was born in Belfast in 1955 and is credited with forcing Christianity on the people of Ireland.  But he did some good things too..  He was the first 3 parts pissed Bishop who would regularly have a nip, mid-sermon for medicinal purposes whilst singing Hymn's in the style of Boris Yeltsin.

The Apostle of Ireland, came to a sticky end when he fell into a vat of rum in 1995, but left this world with a smile and a burp.

Let's all party today, its what St. Patrick would have wanted!

Clocks change in SL but not in Europe yet

For the next 2 weeks it is utter confusion, as the US clocks (and therefore the Second Life clocks) have gone forward an hour, two-weeks before we in Europe catch up.

Here in London City, we still operate UK times for our clubs and concerts, so, until 26th March all of our regular events are 1 hour later than usual.

Here are pictures from the Nolan's Concert (with Kim Woodburn), last night.

Going Irish: The Nolans in Concert, on Saturday

It is The Nolan's on Saturday!

The Nolan's, who originally formed in 1974 as The Nolan Sisters, are an Irish/British girl group, famous for uptempo covers of well known songs.

In their own right, they are most famous for I'm In The Mood For Dancing, which when released in 1979, topped the charts around the world, and to this day, remains one of the most famous disco songs of the era.

The sisters, Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda and Bernie, became regular favourites, appearing on many weekly prime-time shows, including The Two Ronnies.

Family feuds, ill health and the death of Bernie, put a stop to their act in the 2000's but the band reformed again in 2009, but stopped performing again by 2014.

Enjoy this show on Saturday at 12pm SL time (8pm UK), featuring all the Nolan's at the height of their popularity, with special guest, Kim Woodburn, who recently appeared quite demented along side Coleen Nolan on multiple shows!

Irish Festival for St. Patrick

Running through March is all things Irish.

We hope you enjoyed the Joe Dolan show last night.  Next week another Irish turn in the form of The Nolans.   Saturday at 12pm SL time in London City.

Joe Dolan on Saturday

The Irish Festival begins, with top Irish turn, Joe Dolan this Saturday.

He is known mainly for his flamboyant shows which include many well know standards and for his high pitched singing voice, without using falsetto, which is reminiscent of Greek singer Demis Roussos.

Whilst Joe never achieved notable chart success in America, he regularly toured the States and played a residency in Vegas.  In Ireland he is the only Irish singer to have charted in the top ten in each decade from the 1960s onwards.

Joe Dolan died in 2007, but his talents live on and whilst you may not be familiar with the singer you will certainly know the songs and enjoy Joe's rendition.

On Saturday we invite you to enjoy this remarkable entertainer at Party in The Park.

Party starts at 1pm SL (8pm  UK) and the show is an hour later at 2pm SL.
