The Fabulous London City Review

Hey  London  City, how ya doing ?
I know you didn't see me last week, but  that's because we were celebrating  Second  Life's  10th Birthday.

So, did  you miss me? ( say yes ) And what have  you been up  to? tell me everything  ....and  don't skip  bits.
I can  tell you  exactly what we've been up to, we've been  the most popular destination  in  SL...FACT...as per usual  and we have been having a whale  of  a time.... fun, dancing ,shopping, chatting, events, concerts, prizes, winners, a whole array of wonderfulness... that all goes  into the mix to make  your London City  the top destination and most fun place to be in.

So, arriving in  London City, you will most likely land  in one of our two hubs,  the hubs are  bustling  with  people, friends  meeting  up after a hard days work  in  RL,  coming into London to chill out with friends, catching up  on all  the goss...

New people to Second  Life, drop  in, finding  a live  friendly community, and we offer a new  user experience to help all new  people pick  up some basics, to help them on  their way to a rich, full second  life, with trained, helpful Support, headed by our  wonderful  Evie  and  Bean, this really is a great place to be.

Once  you have  hit  the hub  you may want to travel around  the 4 sims  that go into making  London City what it is, all very  different in feel, we cater for every taste, and hold live interactive events too.

Once you have found  London  City, you will never want to leave, as so many of our regular residents say.

Every Saturday  evening we host a LIVE event  in Regents Park... we have seen all manner of fantastic artists play  there,  every week seeing  a huge star can you imagine how much that would  cost in RL....  here in Lonodn City  its all free and  open  to everyone to enjoy...just make  sure  you get  there early as  the place fills to capacity and  you will miss out.
We have seen huge stars  like  Tina  Turner,  Beyonce, Take  That, BeeGees, Rod Stewart,  omg ...the list  goes  on.

This week no stranger to  London City  regents  Park we had Amy MacDonald, she is awesome, with her new concert, with backing from non other than the royal  philharmonic orchestra , this event was epic in more ways than 1.

Amy, born August 26th  1987 in Dunbartonshire, she rose to fame  in 2007 with her first album "This Life" the single  "This Life" reached  the top 10  in  17 countries, 6 of  those  were number 1 in  the charts.

Amy has also won countless "Best  New Comer" awards since 2008.

I caught  up  with Amy and  some of  the Orchestra having a cigarette before the show, and asked  them  how they felt about performing  in  The best  destination  in  SL... Amy said  "I love London City, its always full of such energy"

One of  the orchestra said "Burp" ... I  think  that was meant as a compliment.....

Saturday saw  Amy, dressed in her causal Red and Black stripy jumper and  shorts, standing centre stage  with the Royal  Philharmonic Orchestra around her, what an awesome and splendid sight and  the sound.... you really had to be there to experience  this awesome collaboration.

The Orchestra were dressed in all their finery, as they opened the show playing  Beethoven, then announcing

Amy to the stage, she sung her heart out, a distinctly recognisable voice Amy wowed  London City yet again with this awesome Live concert.

Meanwhile,  there's a new ( not necessarily wanted ) law enforcement officer...

Here we see Constable Babylon pulling  this poor innocent man over ( trying to chat him up and  woo  him with her tight  ...  some may say  ill fitting  uniform  ) poor chap doesn't stand a chance....

Well  that s all from me  this week,  I'll meet you  next time  for more fun and frolics  in  London City... Accept no  imitations....and  "Lets all be careful  out  there " xxx

Second Life at 10

It's been ten years since Second Life started and I'm still waiting for my clothes to rez.

In its infancy, Second Life was a crude laggy, soupy and choppy 3D experience where nothing would rez and the viewers and regions would crash constantly.

Ten years later, we now have mesh.

But the main point is, we have this fantastic community that interacts with each other and builds all kinds of incredible creations, limited only by skill and imagination.

There is a birthday celebration on now, called SL10B and you can see the London City exhibit here:  http://slurl.com/secondlife/SL10B%20Mesmerize/187/162/22

The Fabulous London City Review

HI,  Barry Scott here....  only joking  it's  meeeee!!!!
How ya doing  London  city, how have you been? Tell me  everything  and don't skip bits.

So, let me  tell  you  all about  the adrenalin pumping  week we have  had  in  the  number 1 destination  in SL.... London  City, so get ya  safety harness on  and  lets go!

The fantastic  Carpenters were in concert this  week in Regents  Park.

The Carpenters were a brother and sister vocal duo,  Richard and  Karen Carpenter.
They have a distinctively soft musical  style  that  made  them  among  the  best selling artists  of all  time.

They crossed  many genre including  "soft rock", "easy  listening", and "adult contemporary"  and have sold  over 100 millions  records.

Their  recording career only spanned 14 years, which ended  in 1983 when  Karen Carpenter died of cardiac  arrest  following an eating disorder.

Karen  Carpenters  unique and  instantly recognisable  voice  spanned  over three octaves, she also  played  the drums  while her  brother  Richard was an accomplished  keyboard  player.

Karen's  voice  is  crystal clear and  very unique .

Everyone  loves  this  concert  in   London  City, we all sing  along to  the fantastic  tunes.

We also  had a fantastic  time  on  the  Victoria  embankment.... taking  in  the long awaited  sunny rays.

We would  like to  say a huge  Happy  Birthday  to  Second  Life  ( SL10B)

Ten  years  since  Second  Life virtual  world landed, developed  by  Liden  Labs in  June  2003.

In 1999 Philip Rosedale  formed  Linden  Lab, with  the  idea  everyday  people could  immerse  themselves  into a virtual  world, and  the community has  grown,  in 2008 there was  on average  38,000  logged in at any  one time, which  caused  huge media  coverage. Since  Second  Life has  gone form  strength to strength.

That's  all from  me  this  week, I'll see you  for  more fun and  frolics  in  London  City  number 1 destination  in  Second  Life ....accept  no imitations.
