Presenting Pembridge Gardens Housing, St. Catherines Dock

Brand new homes are now available at the South End of London City2, "West End" near St. Catherines Dock.

These homes offer a whole new level of involvement for those who enjoy being a part of the Community in London City.

Each 2-story Edwardian house is set in 2432 square meters of land and features own front garden and off-street driveway for parking.

An upper front facing balcony overlooking the spacious park area and St. Catherines Dock, a popular destination for visitors.

Each house has its own rear garden and private mooring for a boat or yacht.  The water is connected to the sim water, allowing for sailing down to the St Catherine's Dock area and up past the new clubland area on the eastern side of the region, up to the London City Sim.

As with all rentals from London City,  privacy is assured as much as possible with a pre-installed security system.  Residents can control their own music via radio changer and we will retexture the interior walls and floors of your home to suit your taste.

You can visit the show house by clicking here.

Weekend in Review - 27-29 August

A day late with my post this week as it was a holiday here yesterday and the party kept going in London City!

We started the weekend as we always do with an event at Bar Soho, but things quickly moved on as Madame Lala's London Revue Bar had a special event - a live performance by BG Singer, who treated the enthusiastic patrons to a fantastic set.

BG Singer - and audience
On Saturday we had a brand new show as part of the Party in the Park - a concert featuring a selection of divas.  It was billed as a massive stage and a massive show; of course, the unspoken part was massive egos!  Carole King, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Estefan and Celine Dion all stormed the stage at various points of the show with big voices, big hair and big personalities.

The divas all shared a dressing room without incident - although eye contact seemed rare...
Sunday proved to be a totally strange day, unlike any I have witnessed since arriving in London City.  The party at Comptons pub had a Spanish/Mexican theme -  think sombreros and a dancing cactus..  We had a new performer, a fantastic live singer by the name of Phiona Ember, who wowed the crowd with her vocal talents.  The evening then took a bizarre twist as Comptons very own pub landlady, Fanny Craidic, gave us a 'treat' in the form of a cooking demonstration.  No one was entirely sure what was being made and thankfully the kitchen sink overflowed and helped to douse the flames from the cooker...

The weekend was brought to a rapturous close by another Party in the Park with a concert by the amazing Amy MacDonald and a selection of hardcore tunes from DJ Ruby.

How can we top such a fantastic weekend?  Not easy, but we intend to try.  On Friday we have Father Time at Madame Lala's, Mapoo Little in Regent's Park on Saturday and Britt McMahon as Leonard Cohen at Comptons pub on Sunday!

Weekend in Review - 13-14 August

As weekends go in London City, things proved to be even more wild than usual.  There were the regular parties in Bar Soho and Madame Lala's London Revue on Friday to put us in the mood for the weekend.

Saturday marked the first anniversary of London Soho.  There was a fun fair in Regent's Park and three events!  We started off with DJ Torric warming the crowd up.

Best in Union Jack - and check out that cake on the stage!

The evening then got fully underway with London City favourite Mapoo Little.  Ms Little came fully prepared with a gorgeous gown, a range of sets and her big voice.  She wowed the assembled revellers with a selection of classic Motown tunes.

The beautiful and talented Mapoo Little

After Mapoo's concert, everyone moved back over to the birthday stage (complete with huge cake) to dance the night away to the tunes of DJ SW Easterwood, who usually only pleasures us aurally here in London City on a Wednesday at Bar Soho.

As usual on a Sunday, we had our early morning chillout with coffee and doughnuts at the Hub, before everyone got their dancing sandals on for an impromptu toga party with the lovely Demis Roussos warbling his way though the afternoon.  If you ever come to London City for one of Demis' concerts, watch out for his friend...the wind; you could get blown away by the performance!

To round the birthday weekend off in a classy but laidback style at Comptons pub, the lovely Britt McMahon took to the stage with a tribute to one of the rat pack's finest, Mr Dean Martin.

Incidentally, Britt is back on Saturday 20th August for a tribute to Billy Joel!

Happy birthday London Soho...here's to another fantastic year!

Comptons Never Looked So Good

The SL Enquirer has run a story about London City today.   Read it Here!

Also in the news today...

The Community in London City was shocked to the core today as Comptons combusted!

In a bizarre twist of fate it is rumoured that the fire was caused by a cheap plasma telly acquired only last night!

Luckily, London City Builder and part time Firefigher Billy managed to lay his hands on an unfeasibly long hose to douse melting barmaid Fanny.

The blaze is under control and Comptons will open tonight as usual.  Sorry if the beer is a bit on the warm side.

Weekend in Review

Total insanity at the weekend in London City.  The Friday event at Bar Soho (Best in Green) proved to be a warm up for the later event at Madame Lala's London Revue, which got the weekend off to a rocking start with special guest Tina Turner.

On Saturday we had a party in the park that proved to be a fantastic event and exceeded everyone's expectations.  The special guest was Australian musician, singer-songwriter, composer, painter and television personality, Mr Rolf Harris!  A free didgeridoo and extra leg were available as gifts for visitors.  The backing band were very enthusiastic and took to pogo sticks for 'Tie Me Kangaroo Down' and donned their extra legs to dance along to 'Jake the Peg'!

Everyone became a Rolferoo for the evening!
Sunday contained a disappointment when the scheduled performer was forced to cancel, but all was forgotten when London City favourite, Brian Narstrom, returned for a second live concert at Comptons pub.

The weekend was rounded off nicely with some chilled out tunes from DJ Torric Rodas.

A Year Of Soho

Who would have thought that a year ago when we opened on a small parcel only big enough for Bar Soho and five stores, that a year on we would have a whole private region bursting with content,  shops and people... and be building our next region!

Join us here in London City to celebrate a year of Soho during August.

As the Featured Second Life Destination says, we will hold two concerts each weekend, have a fashion show towards the end of the month, featuring the very best products from our 70 merchants and have competitions and celebrations throughout the month.

This weekend on Saturday at 1pm, enjoy our totally bizarre and hysterical first Birthday party with the legendary Rolf Harris performing with his backing band the Rolfaroos

On Sunday, Live vocalist and professional entertainer, BG Singer will be singing Big Band and Swing songs of Michael Buble, Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra at Compton's Pub from 1pm.

Join us for another big fun London Weekend here in London City!

Weekend in Review

What a wild weekend in London City...it will take me all week to recover!  The weekend got of to a truly hectic start on Friday evening.  Usually there is a party in Bar Soho with me as host (takes a bow), but we relocated to the Regent's Park as the party was only the start of the evenings entertainment.  So we kicked off with Best in Pink and then we had the first of two concerts - Simon and Garfunkel.  We then went from the sublime to the ridiculous with Abba!

Benny, Frida, Agnetha and Bjorn take to the stage
Saturday saw the Bee Gees take to the main stage in Regent's Park for a concert that had the crowd singing along - their vocal cords lubricated by the near infamous Soho Beer.

Yes...it's the Bee Gees resplendent in white suits and big hair
On Sunday we had our usual chill out day until a fabulous 50s party got underway at Comptons pub.  It felt like we were travelling in time as earlier in the week we had a Roaring 20s night at Madame Lala's London Revue - truly the first time I have been to an event in Second Life where everyone has sat on the bar drinking tea...  The highlight of the fabulous fifties night was a live performance from a very talented singer by the name of Brian Narstrom, who performed a selection of smooth songs to round off the weekend in a perfect style.
