The London City Newswire .. filmed on Location !

We're going virtual this week!  With the Radio version of the newswire, accompanied with video of the Saturday night Love-In show!

Welcome to a somewhat different newswire this week, because we're showing you the environment it is made for, which is London City located inside the Second Life 3d metaverse.

This week, on the edge of a nuclear apocalypse we held a love-in. We all danced to flower power and got perfectly drunk whilst demonstrating the need for peace and not getting our heads blown off.

Every Saturday before the main event, we have a tongue in cheek newswire to keep everyone in this fabulous virtual world up to date with the crummy real world.

Second Life is free to play, you can create an account and login directly to London City if you wish to, by following the link on description of this video.  Once you login, please come and say hi.. start making friends  --  Enjoy your adventure!

Hurricane Season UK

Poor Blighty is gripped in a storm front called Eunice today.  It comes only three days after Storm Dudley.

The UK famously does not acknowledge any storm as a hurricane until it has been and gone, but as storms go, this is a big one and will last until Saturday evening.

Fear not, London City in Second Life is still spring like, with only the odd 100mph winds gusting through.

Our team are mostly in their bunkers with tinned spam left over the from pandemic, a torch and a flask of cocoa.

Rougher than Stormy Daniels

We will see you today at 1pm SL, as Madame Bailey, trooper that she is, will appear on stage at Lala's looking like she has been dragged through a hedge backwards.

Newswire: World War 3 could be a nuclear solution for fuel crisis

It's the Newswire in the Wink of an Eye - where we worry so you don't have to.

Today: Nancy Pelosi has no power over London's Metropolitan Police, as drama unfolds and Dame Dick is pushed.  Joe Biden has heard of the Ukraine, but cannot quite place where it is.  Boris Johnson auditions for new Clunk-Click Advert... and possibility of Nuclear War ending the fuel crisis.

Valentine's Weekend

It is the Valentine's weekend!   An unfortunate time for those who are single and wish they were not and an expensive time for those who chose last week to have jolly good argument and have a partner expecting reparations.

Get into the Valentine's spirit..

Stick to the virtual world, is our advice.  Hunt out something from years ago in your inventory, check for the all important transfer permission and save the planet (and reduce some crap from your inventory) by recycling and giving it away as a gift of lurve!   Who's gonna know, except you and your conscience?

Last night Matt Monro played to a packed house and there wasn't a dry eye in the place.  We all had tears running down our legs.

There is a great deal more Valentine's to come today at Substation from 11am SL (7pm UK) and Worlds End on the Beach from 1pm SL (9pm UK).

Matt Monro's Love-In for Valentines

On Saturday, join us for a special show to celebrate Valetines Day.

Matt Monro, sometimes known as the Singing Bus Driver, was a British male vocalist whose career spanned the late 1950s 60s and 70s.

In the 1960s Matt Monro hit international fame and left for America, spending the next 20 years performing concerts and in Las Vegas, before returning to the UK shortly before his death in 1985 at just 54.

The man with the warm and beautiful voice brought enormous pleasure to millions and had many celebrity fans including Frank Sinatra who said of Monro after his death: “If I had to choose three of the finest male vocalists in the singing business, Matt would be one of them. His pitch was right on the nose; his word enunciations letter perfect; his understanding of a song thorough.”

He sang the opening movie scores to The Italian Job (On Days Like These)From Russia With Love and Born Free and is best known for songs, Portrait of My Love, If I Never Sing Another Song, We're Gonna Change The World, The Impossible Dream and Walk Away (later recorded by Elvis).

Join us for a romantic evening, with Matt Monro appearing for the first time ever in London City.

Party starts at 12pm SL (8pm UK), and the Show begins an hour later at 1pm SL
