Joe Dolan on Saturday

The Irish Festival begins, with top Irish turn, Joe Dolan this Saturday. 

He is known mainly for his flamboyant shows which include many well know standards and for his high pitched singing voice, without using falsetto, which is reminiscent of Greek singer Demis Roussos.

Whilst Joe never achieved notable chart success in America, he regularly toured the States and played a residency in Vegas.  In Ireland he is the only Irish singer to have charted in the top ten in each decade from the 1960s onwards.

Joe Dolan died in 2007, but his talents live on and whilst you may not be familiar with the singer you will certainly know the songs and enjoy Joe's rendition.

On Saturday we invite you to enjoy this remarkable entertainer at Party in The Park.

Party starts at 1pm SL (8pm  UK) and the show is an hour later at 2pm SL.

How's your head?

It was the climax of the St. Patrick's day weekend last night in London City.  The crusty Dubliners put on a wonderful show, which always sound so much better when you are inebriated.

Parties continue today at 12pm SL at Substation, then straight over to Worlds End on the beach from 2pm SL as they celebrate the coming of the summer..

Willie Nelson on Saturday

Everyone loves a bit of Willie.  He has always been popular as part of the Highwayman concerts, but this weekend, he's out on his own appearing in London City and he will be off his face.

Songs written and performed by Willie Nelson include, On the Road Again, Always on my Mind, Crazy, City of New Orleans and Pancho and Lefty.

Come and yeehaw with the great man himself!

The Party starts at 12pm SL (8pm UK) and Willie takes to the stage at 1pm SL.

Spring in the Air

Concluding the London City Love-In, Neil Diamond took to the stage for a great singalong show featuring all the most famous songs he has written.   There wasn't a dry eye in the house and we had tears running down our legs.

Next week spring will be in the air as we enter March and The Irish Festival, the biggest party since Christmas, begins here in London City with Irish singer Joe Dolan.

Don't forget there are still more events to come this weekend with Substation at 11am SL (7pm UK) and World's End on the beach from 1pm SL (9pm UK).

On Saturday night, London City went wild for some crusties, as the Dubliners performed a wonderful concert of all the well known classic folk balads.  It was that kind of party where you could still sing along even if you did not really know the words.

The clocks in the USA moved forward one hour today, but stay the same in the UK and in Europe for the next 3 weeks.  In short, all events in London City will start an hour earlier if you are in the USA until we catch up on March 29th.

Saint Patrick's Day Weekend

Well here it is!   The first Saint Patrick's Day weekend since 2012, with the 17th March occurring on the Saturday.

Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Grog, so we thought it only proper to look out for the best deals in the supermarkets.

Three great deals out there, including 8 cans from Tesco for £9, or 8 cans from Asda for £8.. or the best offer coming from Lidl's at 4 cans for £4.

With parties throughout the London City estate all weekend, there may well be a grog drought this weekend, so for heaven sake, get to the off-license in plenty of time!  That is the end of this public service announcement.
