The Regrettes on Saturday

The Regrettes are a Pop Punk band from LA, California. Fronted by Lydia Night they play a blend of 80's covers to their own pop tune musical arrangements.

A mix between Green Day and Blink 182, with a feminist take. They have has three hugely successful albums and have toured worldwide, supporting bands such as 21 Pilots. 

This Los Angeles based teenage garage punk quartet, with a classicist pop bent and boundless energy rock the current pop punk scene and as they grow their music has matured into main stream.

London City presents the Welsh Sexbomb himself,  Sir Tom Jones in Concert.

Singing absolutely everything he ever made famous including, What's New Pussycat, Baby It's Cold Outside, Delilah, Sexbomb, Leave Your Hat On,  to his more recent songs, Sir Tom is bound to be a hit at the Party In The Park.

The amazing ABBA show comes to London City on Saturday for Party in The Park.

Singing all their top tunes, this most famous band of all time will have your avatars dancing in the aisles.

Classic Disco at 12pm SL (8pm UK) and the main concert is at 1pm SL (9pm UK). This is a very popular event, so claim your space on the dance floor early!

Well, Saturday night at eight o'clock, I know where I'm gonna go... To the Drifters Concert in London City and hopefully, being mid-month the weather will be fantastic!

Spanning fifty years (and counting) and with sixty Drifters members so far, this is America's longest running band.

Their songs include, Saturday Night at The Movies, More Than a Number in my Little Red Book, On Broadway, Kissin' In The Back Row of The Movies, There Goes My Baby,  This Magic Moment and many many more.

The Carpenters in Concert on Saturday

The Carpenters were an American vocal and instrumental duo. They were the worlds biggest selling group of the 1970's. 

Although only mainly active for that single decade, by the time of Karen's death in 1983 aged just 32, ten of their singles become million-sellers and by the millenium over 100 million albums had been sold.

"Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft", is  the recognised anthem of World Contact Day which happens in March each year, where the song is constantly broadcast by satellites into outer space.

Going Irish: The Nolans in Concert, on Saturday

It is The Nolan's on Saturday!

The Nolan's, who originally formed in 1974 as The Nolan Sisters, are an Irish/British girl group, famous for uptempo covers of well known songs.

In their own right, they are most famous for I'm In The Mood For Dancing, which when released in 1979, topped the charts around the world, and to this day, remains one of the most famous disco songs of the era.

The sisters, Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda and Bernie, became regular favourites, appearing on many weekly prime-time shows, including The Two Ronnies.

Family feuds, ill health and the death of Bernie, put a stop to their act in the 2000's but the band reformed again in 2009, but stopped performing again by 2014.

Neil Diamond to Rock London

This weekend we will all need to blow off some steam and party!  Best open a bottle of Red whilst you're at it.  It's going to be a drinkathon.

On Saturday our main event at Party In The Park will be the legendary Neil Diamond in Concert!  Neil will be singing all of the famous songs from over the years and this is a concert not to be missed.

Pet Shop Boys, Saturday

Pet Shop Boys are a British pop due formed in 1981 and still actively performing.

Having sold more than 50 million records world wide, they are the most successful duo in British history and are best known for songs such as,  Go West, It's a Sin, West End Girls, Domino Dancing, New York City Boy, to name but a few.

Emmylou Harris Concert

The perfect voice of Emmylou Harris.

Emmylou Harris is an American singer and songwriter.

Back in the 60s she was spotted by Gram Parsons who recognized her special talent of introducing harmonies that the song writers had overlooked.  After Gram's untimely and bizarre death, Emmylou went solo and carved her own career.

She has recorded with Bob Dylan, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Roy Orbison, Neil Young and most recently toured with Mark Knopfler.

In 1995 she diverged from country for a new Indy-style sound for her album "Wrecking Ball", which was panned by critics as career suicide, and yet sold more then 5 million copies.  Since then Emmylou has periodically, continued to dip her toes into this unique style of music.

She went on to win 13 Grammy's and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008.

PRIDE: Queen and Adam Lambert

Poor Freddie left us for a higher plain in 1991 and ever since, the band Queen has hosted various guest artists including George Michael, to sing a variety of their songs in a somewhat ongoing eulogy to the late singer.

Back in 2014, Adam Lambert came to the attention of Brian May and Roger Taylor for his amazing vocal performance of Queen songs on XFactor USA, which Lambert went on to win.

Adam Lambert had enjoyed a reasonable career ever since, but has been catapulted into the stratosphere as Queen's new front man in various tours over the past five years.

He opened HM The Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert in June 2022.

Stiff Little Fingers on Saturday

A brand new Show this weekend!

Stiff Little Fingers are a punk rock band from Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

They formed in 1977 at the height of the troubles, which informed much of their songwriting. They were the first punk band in Belfast to release a record ("Suspect Device" single came out on their own independent label, Rigid Digits). Their album "Inflammable Material", released in partnership with Rough Trade, became the first independent LP to enter the UK top 20. 

Stiff Little Fingers, especially the lead singer and main songwriter Jake Burns, were heavily influenced by The Clash. The group started to write songs about growing up in the troubles in late 1970s Northern Ireland.  

It is worth noting that the 'troubles', themselves were not restricted to Northern Ireland, as the Provisional IRA would regularly bomb mainland England, especially the capital on an almost weekly basis and were responsible for the bombing and murder of Earl Mountbatten of Burma in 1979 and the Hyde Park nail bomb atrocity in 1982.

Stiff Little Fingers, still tour the world even now and are very popular within the Punk Genre.

Saturday show and Genesis Viewer Launch Party

On Saturday it will be Guy Fawkes night (also known as Bonfire Night) in the UK, where copious amounts of  Chilli Con Carne will be consumed.

It is also the launch day for the new Genesis Viewer for Second Life, the blazingly fast 1.23 style viewer, brought up to date with all the bells and whistles.

Our show this week is "The Night of 100 Stars",  featuring all the bands from the late 70's and early 80's  who had disco hits, performed by Pan's People.

Pan's People was a British female dance troupe most commonly associated with the BBC chart show, Top of the Pops, until the mid-1970s.  They appeared on many other TV shows in the UK and elsewhere in Europe and performed in nightclub cabaret. Due to their weekly exposure on British television the group acquired a high profile. The 'classic' line-up which existed from 1972 to 1974 is still widely recognised today.

Join us for an unforgettable night of leggy dancers and top tunes and disco singers of yesteryear re-enacting their hits as of 2021.  Let's hope they can all still carry a tune!

Eurythmics on Saturday

Eurythmics is a British duo, Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart.

The band was formed in 1980 with little fanfare, but burst onto the scene with Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) in 1983 and went on to have many major chart topping hits including Here Comes the Rain again, There Must Be An Angel, Who's That Girl, Love Is A Stranger, When Tomorrow Comes, Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves, I Saved The World Today... and many many more.

The duo split ten years later in 1990 but have reunited a few times since then to release singles, their last being I've Got A Life in 2005

Everly Brothers on Saturday

Appearing  this Saturday: The Everly Brothers.

Don and Phil Everly first became famous back in 1957 with Bye Bye Love and quickly established themselves as Rock n Rollers for the rest of that decade.

Wake Up Little Susie, Cathy's Clown and Walk Right Back followed successively before they moved into the rock-a-ballad style they later became synonymous with.

In the mid 1960's they chart topped with, Crying In The Rain, Devoted To You, All I Have To Do Is Dream, Love Is Strange, Ebony Eyes, When Will I Be Loved and other softer rock songs.

By the start of the 1970's both brothers had become addicted to amphetamines which lead to a nervous breakdown for Don and the duo stopped recording. By the time both were recovered, disagreements had turned into a feud and the brothers did not perform, nor communicate with each other for a decade and pursued fruitless solo careers.

Thirteen years after the split, they performed some tense reunion concerts together beginning in the UK in 1983 where they had agreed that they would only talk to each other whilst on stage, but only if it was necessary.  Encouraged by the media hype of the reunion, in 1984 they recorded, On The Wings Of A Nightingale which was to be their final song to enter the charts.

By the 1990's the brothers had made peace with each other, but their stop-start careers had eroded their following and they continued to perform one-off reunion concerts every few years until their last appearance in 2004 as featured artists for the Simon & Garfunkel tour Old Friends, Live On Stage.

Kate Bush - Saturday

Out of the blue, at the age of 19, Kate Bush topped the UK singles chart with her debut single Wuthering Heights and was the first British woman to have a UK number one with a song she had penned herself.

She has had a further 25 top 40 hits with songs, The Man with the Child in his Eyes, Babooshka, Running Up that Hill, Wow, Don't Give Up, King of The Mountain and many more.

She had not performed on stage in nearly twenty years, but in 2015 did a brief tour for die-hard fans where tickets are changing hands in excess of £400.

Premiere: Fleetwood Mac on Saturday

British-American Rock Band, Fleetwood Mac,  appear in London City with a brand new show.

The band was originally formed in the late 60's, but became world famous in 1977 with their album "Rumours", and had a procession of chart hits with tracks released from that album, including, Sara, Gypsy,  Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Rhiannon and more.

You are invited to the premier performance of the London City Players, performing their tribute to Fleetwood Mac this Saturday.

A lovely love-in

 Last night at our CND site full of nuclear disarmament ladies with hairy legs and guys with hair down to their ankles, we basked in the glory that was Cat Stevens, who told us where we were going wrong.

After a bit of bra burning, the crowd settled down for a love-in with copious amounts of grog.  We were soothed by his melodic voice and whatever we were smoking at the time.

Erasure Concert on Saturday

Back in 1985, singer/songwriter Andy Bell and songwriter Vince Clarke formed the band Erasure.

With the release of the single Sometimes the band established itself as one of the most successful bands in Britain during the 80s to mid-90s.  By the end of the 80s they had broken into the American market and to date have sold over 25 million albums.

Always popular with the LGBT club circuit, the band still performs today to a more mainstream audience.  They are best known for the songs, Oh L'amour, Victim of Love, Blue Savannah and A Little Respect .
