Here come the holidays!  Four days of rest and relaxtation, eating and drinking.. 

It is like a low maintenance version of Christmas because you didn't need to buy presents or see the relatives!

As always and as part of our public service and customer care, we have scoured the supermarkets for cheap holiday grog. This year's winners are Asda (Walmart if outside the UK) and Sainsbury's.

70p a per 440ml can of Fosters in Asda.

53p per 300ml bottle of Bud in Sainsburys.

No wonder they call us 'Boozy Brits' , but it has been a tough old year and our therapy is arriving in a bottle!

The Regrettes on Saturday

The Regrettes are a Pop Punk band from LA, California. Fronted by Lydia Night they play a blend of 80's covers to their own pop tune musical arrangements.

A mix between Green Day and Blink 182, with a feminist take. They have has three hugely successful albums and have toured worldwide, supporting bands such as 21 Pilots. 

This Los Angeles based teenage garage punk quartet, with a classicist pop bent and boundless energy rock the current pop punk scene and as they grow their music has matured into main stream.

See them this Saturday.  The party starts at 12pm SL time (8pm UK) with the band performing at 1pm SL.

Here in the UK, Monday and Tuesday are both Bank Holidays.  Yes, it is a 4 day Christmas this year.

It is almost scandalous that it has been almost a month since the last public holiday in Britain!

Here we are again, on the cusp of a bank holiday, 3 days of Weekend, or 4 if you wiggled it a bit and added the Friday too.

Although the real life weather is looking more than a little bit crappy, with the odd hurricane, and some electrical storms thrown in for good measure, you can rest assured that the sun is still shining in London City.

Starting Friday, we have four days of weekend with all the clubs partying hard.  Immerse yourself in the virtual sunshine with us, grab a beer and lets party!

The August Bank Holiday

We made use of the rainy Bank Holiday today, when London burst its river banks and gave us the opportunity to go sailing around the city!

Bank Holiday Weekend coming...

Oh yes indeedy, its time for yet another long weekend in old Blighty.   There is nothing more we like than plenty of public holidays throughout the summer.  There is also a rumour of the government planning an extra holiday in October to make up for all the ones we have lost this year by staying indoors.

It has become much more difficult to work out who is still in lockdown and who is not.  The UK Government still advises you only go out for essentials and work (if you cannot work from home).  Socialising is still off-limits.  And yet thousands of people are flocking to the beaches, whilst visiting your family is still likely to get you pinched, especially if the police smell a wonderful barbecue wafting out of your back garden.

Here in London City, we hope that those of you still following the advice to be sensible, or those self-isolating, will enjoy three days of party Mayhem with us, kicking off on Friday at 1pm SL with Madame Lalas.

This public holiday is well overdue.  It has been almost two weeks since the last one.

All this partying makes for thirsty work.  We can expect lashings of cheap grog and last minute sales from all the major supermarkets, with cheap sausages and burgers thrown in for the inevitable Bank Holiday Barbie.

As usual, as part of our public service, we've looked around for the best star deals on booze for this weekend as the boozy Brits sup their pints like there is no tomorrow.

 And they are.. Peroni, 12 bottles for £14 and Stella, 18 cans for £14, both from Sainsbury's.

The Bank Holiday is here!

Well here we are again, with another long Bank Holiday Weekend.   Just like real life, its going to be a scorcher in Second Life too.

The Olympic sized paddling pool will be back for you to strut your stuff in your new (and hopefully not recycled) bathing costumes.  The on-site bar serving cold pies and warm beer is available for your convenience and there are special events throughout the long weekend and of course the Saturday night concert!

To enjoy this virtual extravaganza you will need copious amounts of alcohol, and as ever, we've researched the best beer deals nationwide as a part of our public information service.
