It's the weekend!

To think we were all grumbling about the rain and temperature only a week ago.  If ever there was a case of being careful what you wish for, it is tomorrows forecast.

Here in London we are set for 34c, which is around the mid 90's in old money, or closer to 100F indoors if you do not have aircon.

Being a responsible estate, we urge you to invest in copious amounts of grog for this coming weekend which is likely to be very thirsty work, with all the partying we will be doing.

We recommend Asda this week for their posh bottled beer offer and at only 42p a bottle, what's not to like?

A reminder to please drink responsibly, because I won't be, and you might need to get me home again afterwards.

Happy weekend, and here come's the Sun!

Update.. they got it wrong - and it's hotter than they thought

Another Bank Holiday and another Party

It is London City's 9th Birthday Bash this weekend and its happening over the Bank Holiday.  This sounds like thirsty work!

Brits are crying out for another Holiday, it has been weeks since the last one, so most of the country is looking forward to a long weekend, with Monday as the Bank Holiday.

This is the final public holiday of the summer, with the next ones being Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

This public holiday also marks a quick sell-off in the retail sector, to be rid of certain goods to free space up for the Halloween and Festive seasons.

There! I mentioned Christmas in August, forgive me!

So we can expect lashings of cheap grog and last minute sales from all the major supermarkets, with cheap sausages and burgers thrown in for the inevitable Bank Holiday Barbie.

As usual, as part of our public service, we've looked around for the best star deals on grog for this weekend as the boozy Brits sup their pints like there is no tomorrow.

And they are.. Peroni, 12 bottles for £14 and Stella, 18 cans for £14, both from Sainsbury's.

Carling, 18 cans for a tenner, from Asda!

That concludes this public service announcement!

International Beer Day

Friday 4th August is International Beer Day!  See http://internationalbeerday.com

It is a global celebration of beer, taking place in pubs, clubs, restaurants, back yards and in London City.

It also just happens to be the start of the weekend and the beginning of the London City Carnival.
So get yourself to the off-license and stock up on craft beers that ordinarily you might not try.   It's the right thing to do and it supports the all-important beer industry!

Best Beer deal this weekend is at Tesco  where Corona is on offer 24 x 330ml for £20

Parties start today at 11am SL time in Bar Soho and then at 1pm SL time in Madame Lala's
