Today is the last day you can buy money from a 3rd party system as Linden Lab terminates the Reseller pilot program.
For many years, third parties were able to buy and sell Linden dollars to other residents. Last year, a change of agreement by Linden Lab permitted only the selling of L$ by a 3rd party and not the purchase of excess L$ from residents. However, just 8 weeks ago the Lab announced that it was discontinuing the pilot scheme completely and that Resellers had until 1st August to wrap up their businesses.
For the past two months, Resellers have been campaigning for a stay of execution at least until the end of this year, but to no avail.
DX Exchange one of the largest Third Party Money Resellers says on their site:
"We almost run out of our L$ stock. LL did not respond to the petitions. It's the end of an era.
We still have a small stock for those who just bought and still have to withdraw their L$.
We advice you to do it now, so you won't be disappointed. We are not allowed to buy L$ to replenish"
So if you have cash on deposit, today would be a good day to collect it.
