Today is Sunday.  Don't bother getting dressed, you've deserved the rest after all that Christmas food and boozing.   Two events for you today,  Hubstation (Substation in the main hub) at 11am SL time (7pm UK) and The Worlds End broadcasting from an as yet, undisclosed location, but probably the hub at 1pm SL time.

Boxing Day: Pan's People: Night of 100 Stars

Join us today as we celebrate the music of over 100 stars, as performed by Pan's People!

Pan's People was a British female dance troupe most commonly associated with the BBC chart show, Top of the Pops, until the mid-1970s.  They appeared on many other TV shows in the UK and elsewhere in Europe and performed in nightclub cabaret. Due to their weekly exposure on British television the group acquired a high profile. The 'classic' line-up which existed from 1972 to 1974 is still widely recognised today.

Support during the Christmas Holiday

Whatever you're doing this holiday season, have a great time.  We hope you enjoy yourselves and get a chance to pop-in to London City from time to time.  For those in a forced lockdown, we are open throughout the holidays!

Keep an eye out for the pop-up parties happening throughout the estate and in our bars and clubs.

Like you, our support team with be eating, drinking, sleeping, watching tv and logging in to SL.  We have no set hours for Support during the holidays, so if you find yourself needing help, please use the Support portal above and we will be sure to answer you in a timely manner.

If you find yourself online on Christmas day, bring your dinner over to the hub area in London City where the dinner tables are set up and have a glass of wine and a meal with all your online friends

Look for group notices in London City Events and London City Entertainment. Our clubs are open throughout the holidays, but may slightly adjust their regular hours.  On Boxing Day, Sunday 26th December; Substation and other parties from 11am SL Time.

Join us for a Cheese & Wine selection of party songs from the ages from 1pm SLT (9pm UK) with yours truly, then Bailey bringing us up to date and seeing us into the New Year from 3pm SLT (11pm UK)

We are "Home For Christmas", and open throughout the Holidays, with some great events to enjoy and  we hope you will join us.

UK Christmas Lockdown

Yesterday, in an early evening announcement, the Prime Minister of England, together with the devolved governments of Scotland and Wales, announced that the rules for Christmas were changing, and coming into immediate effect.

A new mutated strain of the virus, which is far more adept at transmitting itself, is rapidly sweeping the UK.  The government believes it is no longer safe for us to socialise with people outside of our family unit.

For most of the UK, Christmas has been cancelled.  The introduction of a new 4th Tier (full lockdown), saw nearly all Tier 3 areas move directly into the new tier, which prevents all visiting, even on Christmas day.

This will be heartbreaking for those who live alone and will come as a shock for others, who had made plans to visit family over the holidays, particularly as the Prime Minister had assured us (only two days ago), that Christmas gatherings could still take place.

Although we can never come close to filling the void that a Christmas at home without loved ones will create, please remember you are not on your own this Christmas.  We really are, in this together.  

At London City in Second Life, we hope that you will join us and enjoy interacting with the community, enjoy parties, quizzes, games and one another's company and immerse yourselves in the virtual Christmas spirit.   We are open, we are active, and we look forward to seeing you.

We may be isolating, but we do not need to feel isolated.  Please join us whenever you can through the holidays, where we can lift each others spirits.

The Tree from Norway arrives

It truly is Christmas when the Tree from Norway is presented to London.   

Each year a tree is gifted by the City of Oslo as a token of Norwegian gratitude to the people of London for their assistance during the years 1941-1945
