Boney M on Saturday

It's DISCO time with BONEY M

Boney M is a 4 part vocal group.
Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica, Maizie Williams from Montserrat and Bobby Ferrell from Aruba. The band formed in 1975 in Germany and they gained popularity through the disco era of the late 70's.

Boney M take to the stage at 1pm SL (9pm UK) singing their most famous of songs, including, Daddy Cool, Ma Baker, Gotta Go Home, One Way Ticket, Rasputin, Rivers of Babylon, Brown Girl in the Ring, and many more!

Donna Summer on Saturday

Five times Grammy Winner, Donna Summer was the first international artist to have three albums in the chart at the same time.

After her death in May 2012 she was posthumously named the "undisputed queen of the Seventies disco boom".

If you like 70's Disco then this is the event for you!

Party starts 12pm SL (8pm UK) with the concert an hour later at 1pm SL.

Leo Sayer concert (Brand New Show)

This week for Party in the Park we have a brand new show for you, Leo Sayer.

Leo Sayer began his music career writing songs including "Giving It All Away", which gave Roger Daltrey of The Who and Daltry had his first solo hit.

His debut single, "Why Is Everybody Going Home", failed to chart, but he achieved national prominence in the United Kingdom with his second single, "The Show Must Go On", which Sayer performed on British television wearing a clown costume and makeup. The single went to No. 2 on the UK as did his debut album.

His subsequent singles were all major hits in the United Kingdom – "One Man Band" went to No. 6 in 1974 and "Moonlighting" went to No. 2 in 1975. His albums in this period were also consistently successful in the United Kingdom he scored five consecutive Top 10 placings on the United Kingdom album chart between 1973 and 1977.

He enjoyed a renaissance in the early 2000's with Thunder in My Heart (again) and When I Need You.

His voice, as you will hear is perfectly preserved and changed very little in almost 50 years!

Party in The Park begins at 12pm SL (8pm UK) with Leo Sayer in concert, an hour later at 1pm SL.

Drink Plenty

The heat was phenomenal in Old Blighty and is set to be even hotter today and tomorrow. Keep yourself hydrated, turn the aircon up, and come paddle in the pool at London City!

Last night, 70's dancers, Pan's People, took to the stage and gyrated to sounds of disco era 'pop' groups, performing their original hits from the 1970s, in the 2020's.

The bands and Pan's People have aged extremely well considering their limelight is almost 50 years old!

We hope you enjoyed a nostalgic night of entertainment, which of course all of you are far too young to remember the first time around!

The weekend continues with Substation today at 11am SL time (7pm UK) and Katty drunk as a skunk on the beach afterwards with the World's End crew, from 1pm SL.

This weekend at Pride in London City: The Bee Gees

Enjoy a night of Disco around the Pride theme, as we welcome the Gibb Brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice, better known as the Bee Gees.

Apart from the hundreds of songs that they are so famous for, the Bee Gee's have also written for other artists including Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, and the musical scores for films, Saturday Night Fever, Grease and Titanic.

Selling more than 220 million records, it is estimated that the brothers, wrote just short of one thousand songs and scores, averaging one a fortnight for 40 years.

The Disco begins at 12pm SL (8pm UK) and you can enjoy the Bee Gee's concert here at 1pm SL on Saturday.
