Saturday - Elton Returns

For the first time in 2 years, singer/song writer, Elton returns to Party in The Park this Saturday.

With fifty top 40 hits, selling over 300 million records, Elton is one of the biggest selling artists in the world..

Come and enjoy a dazzling evening showcasing all his most popular songs, at London City on Saturday.   The Party starts at 12pm SL (8pm UK) with the show an hour later.

Holiday Concerts in London City

It's the most wonderful time of the year.. and we hope you can join us for the Holiday concerts here in London City.

Keeping with tradition, Andy Williams kicks off the yuletide cheer with his Christmas show next Saturday evening.   On Sunday one of our most popular shows, the plate smashing, glass shattering Greek legend, Demis Roussos takes to the ice, singing his all time favourite Christmas songs.

Monday sees the welcome return of Elton John and on Tuesday (Christmas Eve) its time for The Christmas Proms, followed by a carol service in St. Marks on the Park.

All events begin at 12pm SL time (8pm UK). 

With events throughout Christmas and New Year, all the London clubs will be open at their normal times, so be sure to visit each club and bar to celebrate Christmas with their themed Parties.

One exception, on Friday 20th of December, there is no Substation or Bar Soho, but Madame Lala's will open as normal at 2.30pm SL (10.30pm UK).

Weekend in Review - -11 December

Hello kiddies, auntie Bailey here with the usual weekend roundup and what a weekend it was!  Christmas is definitely well underway in London City.

Things got off to a smooth start at World's End pub in the West End, with the amazing Joaquin Gustav and his guitar coming to us all the way from South America.  He played a selection of cool tunes, including some Christmas favourites given the Joaquin Gustav twist.

Straight after World's End, we had Best in Tattoos at Bar Soho with DJ Billy Arentire, before a mad dash down the street to Madame Lala's London Revue with DJ Torric Rodas for camp Christmas!

On Saturday we had the return of Elton John to Regent's Park for the weekend tribute concert and Best in Festive Outfit.  Elton seemed to go down well with the crowd, even when he hurled himself from the stage and proceeded to circulate among the audience.

On Sunday I heard a commotion outside Comptons pub.  Investigation showed it was the launch of a new movie co-starring London City's very own Evie Falconer 'Griefbusters'.  Alas I was not able to get close enough to the stars for a clear shot as they were surrounded by paparazzi.

Later on Sunday, Comptons saw more activity with Best in Christmas Hat.  There was a great atmosphere and I for one felt proud to be associated with London City.

The awesome DJ Ruby Jones rounded off the weekend's musical entertainment with Best in Black at Lezbo.

Weekend in Review - 7-9 October

A totally insane weekend in London City...makes a change!

As always we started out at Bar Soho before moving down the road to Madame Lala's London Revue for a tribute concert featuring Welsh hip swiveller, Mr Tom Jones.  He warbled his way through a selection of hit choons, much to the joy of the assembled crowd.

On Saturday we had an impromptu gig from Joan Baez in Trafalgar Square as part of a protest for peace, which saw much hippy placard waving.

Later on Saturday there was a Party in the Park with a contest theme of Best in Glasses in honour of the star attraction, Elton John!  The place was packed out and thankfully as so many people opted for dark glasses, Elton's outfit did not seem nearly so bright.

Sunday saw a change of pace at Comptons pub...well, several changes of pace actually as we had a good old fashioned hoedown with DJ Billy (the kid).  Country tunes and line dancing spectacular ensued.  It turned out to be an unexpected hit with the punters.

The Elton John Concert in London City Regent's Park was a massive success.

Before the concert began, people were flooding in to claim their spot on the dance floor. We were joined by London community regulars as well as visitors from across Second Life. A selection of camp disco filled the warm night air in this second Summer Pop Festival concert. The crowd was buzzing with excitement while we waited for Elton John to appear.

The crowd reached a fevered pitch as Elton took the stage just before 10pm UK. The applause from 100 avatars was deafening when the curtain fell to reveal Elton sitting at a fuchsia piano, supported by the lovely Eltonettes.

The bitch was back with a vengeance!

Elton entertained the SRO (standing room only) crowd with classic hits like 'The Bitch Is Back' and 'Crocodile Rock'. People danced and sang along to their favorite tunes from this icon of popular music.

London City was heaving with activity throughout the night and due to excellent asset management we were able to keep the sim online all night! This meant we were all able to party well into the night without a single glitch.
