Happy Independence Day

Wishing our American friends across the great pond a very happy Independence Day.

On this day in 1776 the United States formally separated from Great Britain.

Thomas Jefferson, penned the Declaration of Independence and later went on to become America's 3rd President.  Nine years later, over breakfast one morning, he drew up the US Constitution, but history recalls it's principal author was actually 4th president James Madison.

Independence a year on

Today is the 1st anniversary of when Great Britain withdrew from the European Union.  It was a time for celebrations and high hopes.. little did we know that they lurgy was just around the corner at the time.
