The new, New User Experience

At London City, we are keenly aware that first impressions are usually the ones that count the most.

A new resident not only forms an opinion about London City, but also of Second Life itself.

With that in mind, we have launched a brand new, New User Experience program, targetting the all important first hour in Second Life.
The old maze like system of noticeboards, which give helpful instructions, was very in-depth, but not particularly entertaining and perhaps a little overwhelming to the newcomer.

We found that new residents wanted to get up and running and interacting with people as quickly as possible and we believe that this serves that need.

Located inside Comptons Pub, residents are shown how to dance, dress, unpack, tip, buy currency, chat, add friends and even how to drink and smoke!

With a dance and live music area at the back of the pub and the Substation Nightclub in the tube station underneath, we think this is covers all bases for an  initial visit to Second Life.

If the resident enjoys what they have learnt, on further visits they can walk across the street to the freebie store, or return to Comptons to learn more, such as age verifying their account and registering their information with Second Life to add inworld money.

We're really pleased with this and we think others will like it too, so remember you saw it here first.
