Eurovision Song Contest 2022 - Who for Half Time?

A date for your Diary!

Saturday 14th May 2022 from 12pm SL time (8pm UK and Europe)

Here at London City, we hold an inworld Eurovision Song contest party where Residents are encouraged to "tune in" and party in the virtual world.  Residents also vote on who they would choose to give their 12 points to.. and who to give their nil point to.

During all the halftime crap where we see the history of the host country, the history of Eurovision, someone dreadful twirling around in chiffon for 20 minutes etc..  we put on a tribute act, an 'homage to  former British contestants.

Please let us know in comments here, or in-world, who you would like to see for those 20 minutes.

Happy Birthday Ma'am

The Queen celebrates her 96th Birthday today.

In a new picture, issued to mark the occasion, it shows her Majesty with her two ponies on the Norfolk estate.

Prince Philip spent much of his retirement at the estate since 2017 and the Queen used to regularly visit until the Covid pandemic forced them both to move back to Windsor castle.

Buckingham Palace says it is not planning any kind of public events around her birthday, though there will be tributes from her family.

Kate Bush - Saturday

Out of the blue, at the age of 19, Kate Bush topped the UK singles chart with her debut single Wuthering Heights and was the first British woman to have a UK number one with a song she had penned herself.

She has had a further 25 top 40 hits with songs, The Man with the Child in his Eyes, Babooshka, Running Up that Hill, Wow, Don't Give Up, King of The Mountain and many more.

She had not performed on stage in nearly twenty years, but in 2015 did a brief tour for die-hard fans where tickets are changing hands in excess of £400.

How to cure anxiety - NHS 'Game Change' via Virtual World

Virtual reality therapy has successfully been used to treat NHS patients with severe anxiety and agoraphobia in a trial led by Oxford University.

The immersive technology helped them move from a “housebound existence to life back in the world outside”, according to a study published 5th April 2022, in The Lancet Psychiatry.

Social Avoidance is a huge issue which has been greatly acerbated in the past few years due to world events, but no one should ever need to feel isolated, due to a wealth of similar like-minded people, who can all connect with each other and enjoy the fun and connectivity of a virtual world.
